808 State in the 808 State
Hi ,Im wondering if anyone remembers the UK Techno Group 808 State visiting the Islands in May 1993?
Im trying to get hold of any photographs from the gigs/visit for a story Im writing.
We played 3 nights at The Garage ? (or somebodys garage?) in Honolulu.
We visited Radio Free Hawaii for a live interview,(I still have the shirt).
and Then we played one concert on Maui.
It really confused us that you had 808 state bumper stickers as we had no idea
that the name related to Hawaii-no other states have telephone prefixes do they?
Any one know the origens of when Hawaii adopted the moniker 808 State?

Hey Graham- I remember the show, it was great! The lasers nearly set fire to Pinks Garage (literally). I've pinged a photographer friend to see if he has any pics.
